PIKE Co., Ky. (WYMT)- They say it is better to give than receive and that is where "Operation Eat" comes in. The ministry of Jubilee Christian Assembly feeds around one hundred and fifty families a month from their food pantry. Pantry volunteer, Carl Tackett says the food that is given out means a lot to those who get it.
"Once a month don' sound like much, but we give a lot of food. It ain't a can of beans or something like that it's big boxes of stuff," said Tackett.
Tackett says someone burglarized the facility during the weekend.
"This is a place of giving and somebody just came in here and took our stuff...help their self," Tackett stated. "All they had to do is probably ask for it. This is where I had the lawnmower parked at, I had my four wheeler...had it covered. They used my own trailer to haul my own stuff outta here with."
If you have any information about the pantry's missing items you can call the Pike County Sheriff's Office anonymously at (606) 432-6260.
