WANTAGE -- The Culver Lake Golf Club will host a benefit for the Sussex County Food Pantry beginning at 6:30 p.m. Saturday, July 14.

The event will feature live music by local bands and a food buffet throughout the evening along with many other surprises. The cost is $10 for admission.

Patrons who donate canned goods and/or non-perishable food items will receive a complimentary draft beer, wine or soft drink ticket.

Culver Lake Golf Club is located at 125 East Shore Culver Road.

The Sussex County Food Pantry serves anyone who is food challenged -- 16,000 people last year.

In addition, 12 county food pantries operated by churches and other groups are assisted throughout the year by the pantry.

The pantry also helps 450 children who normally rely on free and reduced lunches at school. Each Friday the children receive a nutritious meal.

The pantry is staffed by volunteers and is operated by Sussex County Social Services. Food recipients need not be clients of Social Services.

The only information required before food is taken is name, town in which the person lives and age category.

For more information, call 973-383-3600, or stop by Sussex County Social Services, located at 183 Spring St., Newton.

The entrance is on Trinity Street.

The Culver Lake Golf Club offers beautiful scenery surrounding the nine-hole golf course, full bar and party room.
