A local food pantry, run by students in northeast Wisconsin, got a large donation on Thursday.

The Giving Tree, is a food pantry run by students in the Howard Suamico school district.

On Thursday they received eight boxes filled with food, and a $500 donation from Dental Associates.

The company is Wisconsin's largest family owned dental practice, and they're celebrating the opening of their new clinic in Howard by giving back to the community.

"It's wonderful for the students to get involved in giving back. A lot of times they don't see a need sometimes and when they get to do hands on it gives them more pride in how they live their life," says Angela Klumb, the pantry supervisor.

Ways to support The Giving Tree:

Host a food drive at a local business, community organization or place of worship.

Donate food, personal care items, school supplies or winter apparel.

Donate money to purchase food and other necessary items. Sponsor a student's school fees.

Volunteer to help at the food pantry.
