(ABC 6 News) -- There's a new addition to a sidewalk in the small town of Brownsdale.
A mini food pantry was placed along Mill Street. It is similar to the popular mini libraries, but is stocked with food and personal care items. The case is unlocked and people are encouraged to take items when in need and donate items when they can.
Libby Barnes started the pantry after seeing something similar on Facebook.
"I thought it was a wonderful idea, people putting extra items that they have to help the community and to help their neighbors," said Barnes. "My goal in Brownsdale is that we all help each other."
Barnes says the pantry has already proved a success in just the few days it's been up. The original items have been taken and replaced with new ones.
