Food pantry open for residents displaced by Stratford fire - CT Post

STRATFORD — Residents displaced by the Success Avenue fire can get food from the pantry at Sterling House Community Center on Sunday.

Mayor Laura Hoydick arranged for the two dozen affected residents to have access to the food pantry at 2 p.m., she said on Twitter. The residents should go to the preschool wing and ask for Sam or Matt, Hoydick said.

About 24 people lost their homes when a fire tore through the condo complex on Wednesday afternoon. The building will likely need to be demolished.

Sterling House is collecting donations for the families through PayPal, in-person and through mail. All donations should be noted for “Success Ave. Fire Relief Fund.”

Stratford Community Services and Red Cross are also helping those displaced.
