Mount Carmel Area Food Pantry schedule to change - News Item

MOUNT CARMEL — Effective in September, the Mount Carmel Area Food Pantry is changing the days and times of its food distributions.

Food distributions will no longer take place on Thursdays. Instead, they will be from 5 to 6 p.m. the first Tuesday of the month and from noon to 1 p.m. the Wednesday following the third Tuesday. Each household may visit the pantry once per month.

Distributions for the balance of 2018 are scheduled for:

Tuesday, Sept. 4, 5 to 6 p.m.; Wednesday, Sept. 19, noon to 1 p.m.; Tuesday, Oct. 2, 5 to 6 p.m.; Wednesday, Oct. 17, noon to 1 p.m.; Tuesday, Nov. 6, 5 to 6 p.m.; Wednesday, Nov. 21, noon to 1 p.m.; Tuesday, Dec. 4, 5 to 6 p.m., and Wednesday, Dec. 19, noon to 1 p.m.

Copies of the schedule are available at the pantry, located at 26 N. Market St., and at the Mount Carmel Area Public Library.

The pantry is open to income-eligible residents of the Mount Carmel Area School District or residents of neighboring communities who are members of churches that are part of the Mount Carmel Area Ministerium. For example, income-eligible Conyngham Township residents who are members of a church which is part of the ministerium are eligible.
