PITTSBURGH —
The Catholic Community of Bloomfield Food Pantry distributed its first donation at its new location on Saturday.
The food pantry has moved into the lower level of the West Penn School of Nursing.

The site was developed with help from Allegheny Health Network and Highmark. West Penn Hospital shares the space for its Healthy Food Center, which distributes food to diabetes patients.
“Our people feel good coming into a place like this,” said Mike Marino, one of the volunteers at the pantry. “The facility they’ve given us is state of the art so that everybody that we serve, we feel good for them also.”
Volunteers said they provide food to between 80 and 90 patrons, but when you factor in their families, spouses and partners, the number of people helped reaches into the hundreds.
