CONWAY — “Do good work for good people, and have fun doing it.”

This motto for Drive Brand Studio has served it well for over 20 years, and it’s the same rule that’s applied when it comes to giving back to the community.

In December, Drive Brand Studio and the Red Parka Pub teamed up to host a concert to raise funds for the Bartlett-Jackson Food Pantry. The concert featured a rousing performance by local rock legends Moon Boot Lover, which helped rake in more than $1,200 in ticket and food sales, along with nearly 130 pounds of food items.

“Everybody at Drive — we all eat, drink and breathe with this community,” said Nancy Clark, the owner of Drive Brand Studio. “And it is very important to us that we give back to the community we love so much, which is why we put together this community event fundraiser, which is something we want to do more often throughout the year.”

Ticket sales and 15 percent of all food purchased at The Red Parka on the night of concert contributed to the total amount raised, along with a generous $500 donation from The Valley Originals. Drive and Red Parka also partnered with RecycleMobile to assist with collecting and transporting the food to the pantry.

“Partnering with another local business like Drive for an evening of music and fun to help local people was the best,” said Terry O’Brien, owner and event director of The Red Parka Pub.

“There was no better way for the staff at The Red Parka to get involved with the community. We look forward to more events like this that bring our incredible community together.”

The food pantry serves the Bartlett and Jackson areas, and has been in consistent operation for over 20 years. With roughly seven volunteers, the food pantry is open throughout the year, but experiences the most need during the area’s off-seasons. The pantry is open on Saturdays from 10 a.m. to noon.
