BELFAST (WGME) – A Belfast church and food pantry is seriously damaged after a pipe burst, sending water throughout the building.

It happened earlier this week at Little River Church, which is home to a food pantry serving around 100 families every month.

The pantry says it received a shipment of food just before the break happened.

We're told 75 percent of the food for the next distribution was ruined.

The pantry would like to replace its stock by Feb. 15.

They say they would welcome donations of money and food. This includes canned goods, including meats, soups, fruits and vegetables, as well as cereals, peanut butter, dried beans, pasta or anything nutritious that people can spare.

If you would like to donate money in the form of a check, they can be made out to Little River Church with “food pantry” in the memo line. The church’s address is 259 Northport Ave., Belfast, ME, 04915.

If you would like to drop off food, call 636-0206.
