PLAINVILLE — Creatures from the grave will be emerging Tuesday at a local home as part of the annual Halloween “Thriller” performance to benefit the town food pantry.
“It’s turned into its own monster year after year,” said town resident Daniel Bucci.
Every year for 17 years, the Bucci family has been decorating their home at 62 Metacomet Road for Halloween. What started as a scarecrow and hay stacks has evolved into a spooky transformation inside and out.
For the fourth year, the public will be invited to watch a spooky Michael Jackson inspired “Thriller” dance by the YWCA New Britain School of Dance. The public is also asked to bring a canned food donation.
Last year, the event collected over 400 pounds in just three hours.
“It helps a lot,” said Scott Unnever, warehouse manager at the pantry. “It’s another way to stock our shelves.”
The dancers start at 6 p.m. and perform every 20 minutes throughout the night.
Bucci said hundreds of people show up for each performance.
