Shurley family to match gifts to ASUMH emergency food pantry - Ozark Radio News

MOUNTAIN HOME, Ark. — The family of Robert Shurley, a math instructor at ASUMH, will match gifts to the ASUMH emergency food pantry, up to $500.

Giving is easy – visit asumh.edu and click the “donate” button at the top of the screen.  Choose the Food Pantry fund and simply indicate Shurley Family in the notes and your gift will be matched dollar for dollar by Robert, his wife, and sons.

The ASUMH emergency food pantry serves approximately 10-12 families a month which averages 35-40 people. As word of the pantry spreads, numbers are increasing. Items stocked in the pantry include mac & cheese, Hamburger Helper meals, spaghetti and sauce, saltine crackers, peanut butter, jelly, canned fruit/puddings/applesauce, granola bars, oatmeal, pancake mix, cereal, canned chicken or tuna, and canned vegetables. The pantry also provides personal hygiene items, when available, including diapers, soaps, shampoo, laundry detergent, and more.

As a member agency of the Food Bank of North Central Arkansas, supporters of Bridge Bash on September 21 can choose for their gift to go to support ASUMH’s emergency food pantry.

For more information or to donate items to the ASUMH Emergency Food Pantry, contact Sara Smith or Dr. Julia Gist in the School of Health Sciences. The pantry is located on the second floor of Gotaas Hall, ASUMH”s Health Sciences Building, and the number to call is 870-508-6340.
