During the July meeting of the Fairfield Food Bank, it was announced that the Choteau Masonic Foundation had donated $1,000. Additional donations for July came from Betty Bulick, St. John’s Catholic Church, Fairfield Chamber of Commerce and Terria Arps.
For August, donations came from Susie Steltzer, St. John’s Catholic Church, Fairfield Chamber of Commerce, Teton County Food Pantry in Choteau, Candy Rapp, Lynn Krusi, and our Pool Party Attendees.
The Food Pantry sponsored a back to school evening pool party on August 24th that included a food drive. They asked those attending to bring some nonperishable food items and were able to collect 60lbs of food that night!
Volunteers were Adam Schilling, Robert Rhodes, Cathy Anderson, and Trase Caffyn.
The Fairfield Food Pantry served 5 adults, 6 kids, and 6 senior citizens for the month of August. They had a need for frozen meats and for a twin box spring that were both met. For the month of September the pantry looking for toiletries. Such as toilet paper, paper towels, shampoo, conditioner, etc.
Their ongoing needs are frozen meats, soups and kid’s snacks. With hunting season approaching, the patry can accept donations of frozen wild game. With school in session, the pantry has received seven referrals, and have established regularly staffed hours of every first Wednesday of the month, from 6:00 pm to 7:00 p.m.
