Community Food Pantry, in Marshall, receives a generous grant from Enbridge on Friday, May 24, in support of the pantry’s “Peanut Butter for Protein” program. John Welker (right), the supervisor of operations of the Platte Pipeline Eastern District, presented a $3,000 check to pantry representative Ron Duvall. “We are committed to actively supporting the communities across our extensive network of crude oil, liquids and natural gas pipelines, regulated natural gas distribution utilities and renewable power generation,” the company stated. “We demonstrate this through rewarding our employees and the organizations for which they volunteer their time by providing hundreds of thousands of dollars in safe community grants to emergency response organizations along our pipelines to utilize for training and equipment, and supporting nonprofit organizations and charities along our network with community investments.” Duvall expressed his appreciation for the grant. “I am grateful and thankful that we have Enbridge as a good neighbor helping us out. They’re a good supporter,” Duvall said. The pantry currently serves approximately 700 families each month.
