Our fellow residents who struggle to put food on their table on a daily basis need assistance year-round, not just during the holidays. That’s just what numerous local scouts and their leaders provided recently in delivering much-needed food supplies to the Vaca F.I.S.H. Food Pantry.
It was inspiring to see so many dedicated young men and women, along with their leaders, eagerly hauling in numerous bags of food to our local food pantry. We at F.I.S.H. want to sincerely thank the following scouts for their generous support: Packs #191 and #484 and Troops #70, #72, #191, #484 and #852.
Our food pantry’s staff is 100 percent local volunteers, who are glad to have been feeding the hungry in Vacaville, Elmira and Allendale since 1971. Those who know of residents in these three local areas who need food assistance are encouraged to call F.I.S.H. at (707) 447-5482, by mail or in-person at 40 Eldridge Avenue #9, Vacaville, 95688 (in the Vacaville Social Services complex,) or visit our website at www.vacafish.org. Anyone who would like to support F.I.S.H. may also: donate money (we are a 501c(3) tax exemption organization,) donate food, or become a volunteer yourself!
Our office hours are Tuesdays-Fridays from 10 a.m. to 12 noon. Thanks again to our local scouts, their leaders, and the community members who supported their food drive efforts!
