A new resource is now available for those who need food assistance in the northwest part of the county.
U-Turn World Ministries in Chico will host a Tarrant Area Food Bank mobile food pantry the fourth Thursday of each month. The first mobile food pantry will be available 3 to 5 p.m. Thursday at the church, 306 N. Texas 101, in Chico.
An 18-wheeler will deliver food – much of it fresh produce – to the location each month. The food pantry will be open to anyone in the area who is food insecure.
Chico is now the third mobile food pantry location in Wise County.
The Decatur mobile food pantry is open 8 to 10 a.m. the first Saturday of every month at the First United Methodist Church in Decatur, 104 S. Miller St.
The First United Methodist Church in Bridgeport is also home to a mobile food pantry 10 a.m. to noon the second Thursday of every month at its location, 608 17th St. in Bridgeport.
