
Need to put food on your kids’ table? Soon you can run to Oglesby City Hall and grab something from the “micro pantry.”
Monday, Oglesby City Council authorized the use of space at city hall for the installation of a help-yourself food cabinet by Crossbridge Community Church of the Nazarene. The pantry will be stocked daily with food items, though donors are encouraged to help keep it filled.
“There are a number of these around the county,” commissioner Tom Porter explained. “They seem to be working well.”
Mayor Don Finley said there is no cost to the city.
“Everyone though it would be a nice idea for people in need.”
