SEARK debuts career closet, food pantry - Pine Bluff Commercial

The Redcoats of the Pine Bluff Regional Chamber of Commerce were on hand for a March 27 ribbon cutting celebrating the opening of Southeast Arkansas College’s Career Closet and Food Pantry.

The career closet is a resource for all currently enrolled SEARK students. It is located in the General Studies North building to assist students as they prepare for job readiness and initial interviews, according to a news release.

The career closet will be stocked with gently used men’s and women’s business attire. clothing donations will be accepted from 9 a.m. until 3 p.m. Fridays and tax deduction receipts will be provided.

SEARK, in partnership with the Southeast Arkansas College Foundation and the Arkansas Food Bank, also has a food pantry for all currently enrolled SEARK students. The food pantry is in the General Studies North building as a supplement to the nutritional needs of individuals and families. The college plans to distribute food once a month to approximately 50 households. The distribution would include three breakfasts, three lunches, and three dinners for each person in the households. The college held the first food distribution March 15.
