West Chester >> For the second year in a row, the West Chester University Resource Pantry has been awarded the Gateway to Equity Award presented by the West Chester-Chester County Branch of the American Association of University Women (AAUW). The award was presented to Tori Nuccio and Jodi Roth-Saks, co-directors of the Pantry this month on International Women’s Day.

The AAJW Gateway to Equity Award honors an individual, group or organization that has shown by action and philosophy the promotion of the AAUW mission of equity for women and girls through advocacy, education and research.

The Pantry was established in 2016 to provide support for students who are homeless, coming from foster care, or are experiencing financial difficulties. The Pantry provides food, personal care items and clothing, with a focus on professional clothing for students entering the workforce. Counseling and money management services are also available.

AAUW branches across Pennsylvania held similar presentations to bring awareness to the work of those who promote the AAUW mission. AAUW, with a nationwide network of more than 150,000 members and donors, has been a leading advocate of equity for women and girls since 1881.
