The annual NBC 6 Pack the Pantry Food Drive School Competition to benefit the Food Bank of Northwest Louisiana officially begins Monday, October 23, 2017 and will conclude on Wednesday, November 15, 2017.
Schools in Northwest Louisiana are invited and encouraged to compete to win cash prizes for the 1st, 2nd and 3rd place winners. Cash prizes are awarded to winning schools by classifications of Elementary, Middle, and High School. To give all schools an equal chance to compete, winners will be based on weight of food per student enrollment. 1st place prize is $1,000.00, 2nd place prize is $750.00 and 3rd place prize is $500.00.
All participating schools must arrange self-delivery of your food items to the Food Bank, 2307 Texas Avenue, Shreveport, LA 71103, no later than 3:00 p.m. on Wednesday, November 15th. Early delivery is encouraged.
On Friday, November 17th, we will announce and award the winners in each category at the Food Bank. We encourage you to use this food drive to also bolster school spirit, and to educate your students about the realities of hunger that many in our community face.

Last year's Pack the Pantry food drive competition was between 36 schools from northwest Louisiana. A total of 60,890 pounds of food was donated through the school food drive competition. This is one of the largest food drives held each year for the Food Bank of Northwest Louisiana.
