— The League of Women Voters of Pike County held its "Be Thankful Dinner" for members on Nov. 15 at the Fairview CafĂ© in Tafton, and included in the celebration an outreach to those less fortunate.

LWV Pike recognizes the crucial need for more food donations to local food pantries throughout the county, particularly at this time of year. Pantries have a constant need for donations of non-perishable food items, but even more so during the holidays and the onset of winter, when most families experience higher expenses for heat and groceries. Local league volunteers quickly mobilized to help provide a bountiful donation to St. Luke's Church "Good Cheer Food Pantry" in Greeley.

"Remember, LWV Pike County welcomes men and women as members, and encourages you to email LWVpikeCounty@gmail.com with any questions, or just to learn more about this non-partisan group." said Lara Anne Dodsworth, President, LWV Pike County.

LWV's next event will be from 5:15 to 6:45 p.m. on Monday, Dec. 11, at the Pike County Library to provide up-to date information on gerrymandering and redistricting.
