Dinner, silent auction to benefit Ohio food pantry - Huntington Herald Dispatch

IRONTON - Harvest for the Hungry Food Pantry will host a dinner and silent auction at 5:30 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 12, at the First Church of the Nazarene, 2318 S. 4th St., Ironton.

Dinner will be catered by Joy Coffman and will be baked steak, baked potato, green beans, garden salad, dessert and drinks.

Tickets are $15 per person. There will be entertainment during dinner, and the silent auction will begin at 7 p.m.

Items up for auction include Cincinnati Reds tickets, a weekend stay at the Holiday Inn Express in Ironton, a two-night stay at Dale Hollow Lake State Resort Park in Burkesville, Kentucky, two tickets to the Temptations Revue at the Paramount Arts Center in Ashland, framed prints, an autographed script for the CBS series "Extant," passes to Preferred Fitness, an emergency road kit, an Ohio State poster, an Ironton stoneware pitcher, an electric decorative lamp, an Ironton Tigers baseball cap, a gift certificate for Allyn's Jewelers and many gift cards to restaurants such as The Peddler, The Depot, Giovanni's of Ironton and of Coal Grove, Rax, Long John Silver's, Marco's Pizza, Pizza Hut and more.

Proceeds will benefit Harvest for the Hungry Food Pantry, an interdenominational food pantry located in Ironton and sponsored by First Presbyterian, First United Methodist, Memorial United Methodist (Coal Grove), Quinn Chapel African, Methodist Episcopal, Resurrection Hope United Methodist, Saint Joseph Catholic, Saint Lawrence Catholic, and Saint Paul Lutheran Church. The food pantry has operated since 1992 from contributions and donations, helping families in need in Lawrence County.

Tickets can be purchased from Bonnie Collinsworth, Lois Terkhorn, Jeri Kavanaugh, Peggy Hartwig, Diane Porter or Cecil Cline from 9 a.m. to noon Mondays and Wednesdays at the pantry, 120 N. 5th St., Ironton; or from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays at Nancy's Nook, 710 Park Ave., Ironton.
