Temporary Food Pantry to Help Federal Employees - www.fox16.com
NORTH LITTLE ROCK, Ark. - The American Federation of Government employees has stepped up to help its members.
The group has started a food pantry to help provide basic necessities to government employees in need.
"Out of 13,000 federal workers, approximately 10,000 are union members. So our donation drive is here to help those who are furloughed or without pay," explained AFGE member Hallie Smith.
At the North Little Rock office on 1001 West 33rd the group is collecting items. They are asking for non-perishables and hygiene products along with diapers.
All items can be dropped off at that location between 5 and 6 pm. They will be accepting them Monday through Thursday until the shutdown ends.
