In time for the holiday season, Millbury Savings has donated $3,000 to the food pantries in Millbury and Sutton.

Combined, these five food pantries — the Sutton Senior Center’s Michael A. Chizy Food Pantry, the Friends of the Millbury Seniors Food Pantry, the food pantry of the St. Vincent DePaul Society of the Catholic Parishes of Millbury, the Sandra L. Fischer Food Pantry at Millbury Federated Church, and Bernice’s Community Cupboard at St. John’s Episcopal Church — assist hundreds of households a month in both towns.

As expected, the holidays increase the demand for these pantries’ supplies.

“These pantries do a tremendous job of providing food to area residents, but the holidays place a particular strain on them,” said Millbury Savings Bank President and CEO Robert J. Morton. “We hope our contributions can help to replenish their supplies, just when the communities need them most.”
