SPRING VALLEY — Christmas distribution hasn’t even arrived at Hall Township Food Pantry, and the shelves are showing bare spots. One can only imagine what they will look like after Dec. 21.
Last year at this time, the food pantry held a fun food drive – and people are actually calling to see if their families can do it again this year – you bet!
In anticipation of the busiest weeks of the year, Hall Township Food Pantry has issuedits 12 Wishes of Christmas challenge – based entirely on need. Once again, the food pantry is appealing to the giving goodness of the community and encourages groups – or even extended families – to consider taking part in the 12 Wishes of Christmas project.
Traditionally the 12 Days of Christmas begins on Christmas Day and ends 12days later - Jan. 6, the feast of the Epiphany. The food pantry’s 12 days has no startand no stop, but offers a fun giving opportunity.
Participating in the 12 Wishes of Christmas is a way to celebrate the holidays byhelping others. Any office or group can go together – divide up the numbers andcomplete the challenge. Large families could do the same. The holidays arestressful for most everyone, but not being able to feed a family is a stress the food pantry hopes to help eliminate.
Using the 12 Days of Christmas as its guide, Hall Township Food Pantry offers its 12 Wishes of Christmas:
