Benjamin Lambrecht of Mansfield recently helped collect donations for the Mansfield Our Daily Bread food pantry with some help from Stop & Shop.
Benjamin, a fifth-grader at the Sage School, had a summer assignment called "kindness by the numbers."
“What I had to do was find out how something kind that I did would impact other people if other people followed my example,” he said. “I decided to do mine on the food pantry because my mom and I pick up the food at Stop & Shop and bring it to the food pantry each week. I wondered how many items of food would each household in Mansfield need to contribute to fill the need of the food pantry. I discovered that if each household donated one item a week it would fill the need.”
Lambrecht created a poster encouraging donations and Stop & Shop agreed to display it.
