SHELL LAKE— Indianhead Community Action Agency has announced that the ICAA Washburn County Food Pantry is moving from Spooner to Shell Lake.
The Washburn County Connections Store, which formerly housed the food pantry, closed at the end of August, although food pantry services have continued at the same location. Since then, ICAA has partnered with Ventures Unlimited and plans to move the food pantry to their Shell Lake location.
“We are excited to enter into a new partnership with Ventures Unlimited, Inc.,” said ICAA CEO Jennifer Shearer. “Our goal is to continue providing healthy, food options for low-income individuals and families through our food pantry in Washburn County. It’s an important resource for the communities, and the relocation to Ventures Unlimited, Inc. will help us continue our goal.”
“Ventures in Shell Lake is excited for the opportunity to be able to bring the food pantry to Shell Lake,” said Ventures Unlimited CEO, Kristin Frane. “Not only is this arrangement good for ICAA, but we [Ventures] are able to give people with disabilities the chance to learn work skills through volunteering.”
The food pantry will continue operations at its current location in Spooner (608 Service Road) through September 25.
ICAA Washburn County Food Pantry will be open at its new location at 110 N Industrial Dr., Shell Lake, starting on October 4.
Regular operating hours for the pantry will be Fridays and Saturdays from 9 a.m. to noon.
