Video production camps offered for teens

The MCTV Network is offering video production camps for Midland area teens. Campers will learn all about MCTV's video production equipment and use it to create a complete program called "Studio B!"

Campers learn how to operate MCTV's professional HD camcorders, edit video on an iMac using Final Cut Pro X, and work as a crew member in a real TV studio. Upon completion of the camp, teens will have full access to the equipment and services of MCTV. Campers also have the opportunity to volunteer on MCTV productions like local sporting events, community concerts and public access talk shows.

The final MCTV Summer Video Camp of 2019 will be Monday through Thursday, Aug. 5-8, from 1 to 5 p.m. Pre-registration is required as space is limited. Register by calling 989-837-3474 or visit MCTV's offices during business hours. Cost for the video camp is $50, which covers daily snacks, a souvenir T-shirt, a pizza party, a DVD recording of the students' completed show, and a $25 MCTV access user membership for the year. The camp is open to Midland residents ages 12 to 17.
