“We distribute 10,000 pounds of food each month and support 150 to 170 families each month,” said Frank Ruder, director of the pantry which serves Buffalo Grove, Vernon Hills and parts of Mundelein. “During the summer, it’s more important to us to receive donations because a lot of our clients have children who get free breakfast and lunch at school, but they’re home now and not getting that, so this helps.”
