BELFAST, Maine. (WABI)- "Everybody needs to eat and it's not always a possibility to just go to the grocery store and buy what you need."
No Greater Love Food Pantry packed up their food at Abundant Grace Ministries Church in Searsmont and found a new home at Belfast Veterans of Foreign Wars post.
"I saw Tanya had put a message out that they were looking for a place so I reached out to here and said would you like to come down here. She looked at some other spots and chose to come here."
"I said no, first off because we didn't think we could move to Belfast and then we did some talking with Good Shepherd and they said we could come here."
Since moving to their new location at the beginning of January, they have seen an increase in families.
"We have a better opportunity to reach people where we are in a bigger town, people can walk to us compared to being in Searsmont. We are seeing about 70 families a week, roughly and we expect it to go up especially this month."
No Greater Love Food Pantry serves people from anywhere in Waldo County and nearby towns and is open on Sundays from 12:45 to 2.
They are completely run by volunteers and are always in need of more.
"I like to help out because I can spend some time with my dad and help other people at the same time."
They are located in the lower level of the VFW building at 34 Field Street.
"We're all about community service here at the VFW. We love reaching out to our community, our community is really super to us, so it is just one of our ways of giving back."
Folks can stop in when they are open and get a box or two of food.
"We don't discriminate against anyone. Anyone who needs food can come right in all they have to do is fill out a small application."
The food pantry is always accepting donations.
"We seem to have a lot more opportunity here in order to help the community."
