Each weekday, The Salvation Army provides nearly 230 people with a hot, nutritious lunch and feeds an additional 300 a month through its emergency food pantry.
“We have many families that come to us, and this is the only meal they may have that day,” said Capt. Jimmy Taylor, corps officer for The Salvation Army of Washington County.
Donations of food may be dropped off between
9 a.m. and 4 p.m. at The Salvation Army, 525 George St. in Hagerstown. Monetary contributions may be made to The Salvation Army and mailed to P.O. Box 747 Hagerstown, MD 21741.
