Jackson County Bar Association raises money for Murphysboro Food Pantry - The Southern

In December, the Jackson County Bar Association held its 11th annual Holiday Food Drive to benefit the Murphysboro Food Pantry, a volunteer-operated food pantry serving all of Jackson County.

Members raised $4,725 for the food pantry, which is the largest USDA food pantry in Jackson County. The food pantry served an estimated 36,537 people by the end of 2017.

“With a new year on the horizon, it was quite a surprise to receive a very generous donation from the JCBA," Murphysboro Food Pantry Director Megan Austin said in a news release. "I was overjoyed to learn that $4,725.00 was raised to benefit those who rely on us."
