Springfield, Mo, -- (10/4/17) The Salvation Army in Springfield, MO has reorganized their weekly food pantry to better serve clients utilizing this program.

“Our continued goal is to serve our community in the most efficient way possible,” said Major Butch Frost, Corps Officer. “As we continue to look at our programs, we have found ways to streamline them to make it easier for the clients, volunteers and staff.”

The program will still take place at The Salvation Army’s main office at 1707 West Chestnut Expressway; however the food pantry will now operate in The Salvation Army’s gymnasium rather than throughout the building.

The Salvation Army’s Food Pantry operates every Wednesday from 9:30a.m. to 11:30a.m. and 1:00p.m. to 2:30p.m. Each week, on average, 120 families and senior citizens utilize this program. In addition, the first two weeks of the month, The Salvation Army offers the USDA Emergency Food Assistance Program through the food pantry.

The Food Pantry is in need of donated, non-perishable food items. Monetary donations are also needed to support The Salvation Army's ongoing programs. Monetary and food donations can be brought to The Salvation Army’s office at 1707 West Chestnut Expressway.
