Interim CEO of God’s Pantry Food Bank, Ame Sweetall, comes to the studio to talk about the need for food donations, especially as winter weather approaches.

God’s Pantry Food Bank is distributing food to hundreds of programs and partners across 50 counties of the state. With the winter weather coming, and kids being out of school for the holidays, families who are already struggling will feel an even bigger pinch as they try to make ends meet with higher utility bills and often cut in work that is seasonal. While generosity abounds this time of year, hunger will still exist after the holidays.

But right now there are a lot of ways you can support the Food Bank in a variety of ways. First, God’s Pantry Food Bank participating in Blue Grass Community Foundation and Smiley Pete’s annual GoodGiving Challenge.

There are also ways to help feed hungry kids and families while you’re doing your Christmas shopping – purchase something from the Provisions line of Kentucky apparel at any Wildcat Wearhouse and provide meals.

You can also honor loved ones with a gift to the Food Bank and they’ll send them a holiday card notifying them of your gift.
