This weekend thousands of hunters will hit the woods in Wisconsin for the start of the gun deer season. And an area food pantry is hoping those hunters donate any extra venison they might have to help feed the hungry.
Paul's Pantry has been accepting donations of venison during deer hunting season for 22 years.
With the gun deer season right around the corner, pantry officials want hunters to know about this option.
“The processing is already paid for so there is no cost to the hunter,” said Craig Robbins, director of the pantry. “It’s as easy as just signing your name."
