The Tri-State Food Bank is partnering with the Salvation Army to get more food into the hands of those who need it.
The agencies opened up a mobile pantry on Thursday afternoon at the Salvation Army on Fulton Ave. in Evansville.
Things like peanut butter, produce, and other groceries were handed out on a first come, first serve basis.
"Ut's what we do everyday," said John Strain, "so we help the community through our agencies. We don't get the opportunity to deal with individuals very often. It's kind a nice experience for us too."
Organizers say they do plan to host more mobile food pantries in the future.
