BEREA, Ohio -- Local residents and businesses are asked to “Help Fill the Food Truck” from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Nov. 9 at Berea’s Style Studio, 34 Beech St.
“For the past 12 years, our food drive has been a huge success, thanks to the generosity of our community and our clients,” studio owner Sally Herman said.
She said the annual event “helps to stock the shelves” at the Scan Hunger Pantry in Berea, providing food for Berea residents and some communities.
“We hope that this year will be equally successful," Herman said.
Her husband, John; son, Johnny; and students from Baldwin Wallace University will pitch in, manning the truck in front of the studio, and they will unload any and all donations received. “You don’t even have to get out of your car,” Herman said.
Greatly needed food items, she said, include canned and boxed items for Thanksgiving dinner, pasta and pasta sauce, rice, soup, peanut butter, jelly, cereal (hot and cold), canned fruits and vegetables, toilet paper, paper towels and personal hygiene products.

Rick Smith Jr., Magician & Illusionist, will provide the entertainment. The event will also feature a homemade bake sale, cash raffle, gift baskets, magical gift cards and a 50/50 raffle.

The inn also boasts a 240-volt level 2 universal charger that will work with most other electric-powered vehicles, including the Chevrolet Volt and Nissan Leaf.
Bowl for kids: A Charity Bowl-A-Thon to raise funds to benefit “Christmas Presents for the Kids” of the Middleburg Heights Food Pantry will be from 1 to 3:30 p.m. Oct. 20 at Southland Bowling Lanes, 6800 W. 130th St. in Middleburg Heights. For more information, call 440-340-9016.
There is a $15 donation per bowler, plus a product for the food pantry, such as laundry detergent, toothpaste, soap or paper products. Shoe rental is included. Six bowlers per lane. Kids are welcome and bumpers are available.
