Hundreds of children receive backpacks from local food pantry - The Patriot Ledger

QUINCY — Hundreds of local students received backpacks filled with school supplies during the month of August, thanks to Interfaith Social Services' annual backpack drive.

The South Shore multi-service agency, which is located at 105 Adams St. in Quincy, gave more than 600 backpacks to school-aged children of its food pantry clients. The backpack drive was made possible by many generous local donors, which included individuals, businesses and organizations.

Interfaith's food pantry is one of the largest in Greater Boston and serves hundreds of children and families each month. Its backpack drive is one of many seasonal programs centered around children, which include a Halloween costume drive, holiday gift program and Easter basket distribution.
