The new Shepherd's Table at St. John's Episcopal Church was blessed Sunday afternoon.
It has double the space of its previous pantry. The food pantry there started in 2013 in a modular, but a plumbing accident shut it down.
Organizers said having a running pantry is essential. They said each month, The Shepherd's Table feeds about 180 people (many of them are families with children).
It's one of 30 emergency food panties supplemented by Food for Lane County.
"There's no shame in using a food pantry. If you find yourself running out of food (or your food budget) toward the end of the month, no shame. Go to a food pantry in your neighborhood. Call Food for Lane County and they'll tell you where you can go," said Penelope McKibben, the pantry's Co-Coordinator.
The Shepherd's Table is open on the first and third Saturday's of the month from 9:00 a.m. until noon.
