Masonic youths will give to food pantry - Kearney Hub

KEARNEY — More than 250 Masonic youths and adults from Nebraska and surrounding states will attend the Sixth Triennial Masonic Youth Leadership Conference Saturday and Sunday at the Holiday Inn Conference Center in Kearney.

The weekend will be filled with motivational presentations, service projects, fun and fellowship.

Attendees will take part in a service project to benefit the Mid-Nebraska Food Bank. During the project, teams of youths will be given an allowance of money along with a list of items needed by the food pantry. The goal of the teams will be to purchase the most items on the list with their money. After shopping, the youths will go to the food pantry to stock the shelves with their purchases. Before the conference, members of the Job’s Daughters Bethels, Rainbow Assemblies and DeMolay Chapters will collect and donate items to the food pantries in their hometowns.

The conference is underwritten by donations from Masonic Lodges, Eastern Star Chapters, Shrine, Scottish and York Rite bodies, and businesses and individuals throughout Nebraska.
