WEST TERRE HAUTE, Ind. (WTWO/WAWV) — Saint Mary’s Village held a fun run/walk on Saturday morning.
The walk was held to benefit Providence Food Pantry, a ministry of the Sisters of Providence. The pantry serves around 3,000 families a year.
“This is to let the people in the area know about the food pantry in West Terre Haute and it serves… it has served last year 16,000 residents and that represents over 4,000 families. So, it’s very needed in the area,” said event organizer, Jeannette Wrin.
The pantry is celebrating its 25th anniversary this year.
The event included several activities for children and participants received a t-shirt.
