CLIFTON, Colo. (KKCO/KJCT News)-- On Saturday the Parking Lot Pantry lent a hand to those who needed it most.

The Western Colorado Food Bank and the Clifton Christian Church partnered up to bring food to the community. Once a month, the church opens their grounds to the Parking lot Pantry. The pantry offers lots of fresh fruit and veggies donated by the local farmers. Staff says they want to promote healthy living and make an effort to provide fresh produce for people to eat. Over 300 people were able to get the food that they need.

"They are such great people. And we want to be able to provide that for them, so that they can get to the next step and get where they need to be," says Food Bank Program Representative, Michelle Marie.

Members of the church and the community volunteered to help pass out food. The Western Colorado Food Bank partners with 107 agencies across the Western Slope. For information on other local food options in the area, you can check out https://ift.tt/2IzsA5z
