The pantry had to close its doors because of contamination from the thawed chicken, however, they're continuing to help the community.

Residents lined up to pick up canned food on Monday morning.

Officials from the pantry needed to get everything out of the building while they have the carpet replaced.

The Executive Director Mark Smith, said, "We want to get this food delivered to people, so we figured we'd give it all away because we're going to have to restock it anyway."

He added, "So rather than have it just sit out here in the hot til they're done, let's give it to clients."

The clean up is expected to cost several thousand dollars.
