HENRY COUNTY, Va (WFXR News) - A generous donation from two organizations has helped stock Patrick Henry Community College's food pantry for months.

The Virginia Foundation for Community College Education and Anthem Blue Cross and Blue Shield Foundation donated nearly $5,000 to the college to help restock the food pantry for families fighting hunger.

"This is a huge blessing," says Student Success Center Director and pantry manager, Christy Stocks. "With this donation, we should be able to get enough supplies to last an entire semester."

The food pantry was founded in 2017, and helps approximately 75 students every semester.

According to college officials, dozens of Patrick Henry Community College students face hunger issues.
