Realizing the vital importance of music and food for life, Music for Food and the Kosher Food Pantry and will partner for a second year to host a gala concert to raise funds for Kosher Food Pantry to continue serving 4,000 food-insecure people each month.
The performance will begin 2 p.m. Nov. 19 at the Maltz Museum of Jewish Heritage in Beachwood where guests will hear world-renowned chamber music performers while also supporting the Kosher Food Pantry.
"Our hard work and willingness to deliver to many locations makes us one of the leading food pantries," said Devorah Alvesky, Kosher Food Pantry director. "Every penny raised will help put food on the table in our local community.”
Kosher Food Pantry is one of the only food relief agencies in Cleveland that travels to 27 distributions areas each month to bring food to the struggling, said Alvesky. With the donations, the pantry can continue serving fresh vegetables, fruits and other necessary stables for a healthy diet.
"The fact that (the musicians) are donating their time and talent to support others is tremendous," Alvesky said.
The performers are Jinjoo Cho on violin; Yolanda Kondonassis on harp; Keither Robinson, Eva Roebuck and Sharon Robinson on cello; Michael Sachs on trumpet; and Jason Vieaux on guitar. Seating is limited to 72 people.
