BIDDEFORD, Maine (WMTW) There's concern in Biddeford that a food pantry may be soon closing its doors.
Biddeford Food Pantry is one of the state's oldest pantries, and is supported by public donations.
Its director claims the building's owner is jacking up the rent. But the owner says that's not true.
Pantry managers say if the price is raised, it may be one they can't afford.
"We're happy to be doing God's work and helping the hungry people of Biddeford and we hope to continue this mission." Says Pantry Manager Don Bisson.
The property owner didn't want to go on camera, but insists he never said the rent would increase.
Instead he says he wants the food pantry to buy a portion of the building.
